Hundreds of UK business leaders urge EU exit, More than 300 business chiefs have urged Britons to vote to leave the EU in June’s referendum, considering the stay an impediment to growth of the economy.
In a letter, the business leaders said Brussels’ red tape adversely affects over five million businesses trading with the EU. They also said that Britain’s competitiveness will be undermined by its membership of “the falling 28-nation bloc”. Meanwhile, Finance Minister George Osborne accused the Leave camp of indulging in conspiracy theories. The UK is set to hold the referendum on June 23 to decide whether Britain should leave or remain in the European Union. Prime Minister David Cameron is under immense pressure by his Conservative party for campaigning to stay in the EU. Opinion polls also suggest people are still largely undecided on the issue.
