At a Cabinet meeting today, President Park said she decided to grant the pardons for national cohesion, economic revival and to boost morale ahead of the 70th anniversary of Korea′s liberation from Japanese colonial rule on Saturday.
She said the amnesty will give ordinary citizens and small business owners a chance at a comeback.
By pardoning business leaders in the construction and software industries, the president said she expects the amnesty to help with efforts to revitalize the economy and create jobs.,
